The American Chemical Society (ACS) was founded in 1876 and is the world's largest scientific society. The ACS represents professionals at all degree levels and in all fields of chemistry and sciences that involve chemistry. Its mission is committed to “Improving people’s lives through the transforming power of chemistry." The Canisius College Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society was initiated to bring together those students of Canisius who are interested in the chemical sciences. The club aids students in choosing career paths and allows them to form an association with Canisius professors and other professionals from local institutions of academia and industry.
