Music has always been
important to me. I collect all kinds of music and I love to go out and see
a live band in a club or concert. I also spent five years spinning records
in a bar. These links help me keep up with what's going on and catching up
with something I might have missed the first time around. With so much
music out there it's also fun to discover something from past decades to
explore.
- All Music
Guide - One of my favorite resources.
- Music/Performance
from About.com - A great collection of resources including CD
reviews.
- CD Now - I
think this is a good source to get info about a CD such as availability,
tracks, length of time, listen to tracks, etc. They have hard to find
stuff but the price gets hurt by the shipping cost.
- BMG Music
Service - I know the rap about CD clubs but I do everything online
and I only buy when they offer buy 1 get 3 free. Then it's a good
deal.
- Rhino Records -
My favorite label.
- Rock n' Roll
Hall of Fame - One of these days I'll get the family in the car and
we'll drive over to Cleveland and check it out.
- SonicNet - What's
happening right now.
- Rolling
Stone - I never liked the magazine much beyond the reviews. Even
then I usually didn't like what they liked. Feel the same way
today.
- Ultimate Band
List
- Internet Underground
Music Archive
- E Music - The MP3
phenomenon.
- FolkNet - A
good resource for folk and acoustic music.
- Ceolas - Celtic music on
the net.
- Jammin' Reggae
Archives - THE reggae site on the net.
- Reggae Fusion Jamaica
- The encyclopedia of Jamaica's music.
- Classical
Net Home Page - A good source of classical music info.
- Classical Music Pages
- Global Music
Network - Classical and Jazz.
- JazzWeb -
From WNUR-FM Northwestern University.
- The
Hard Bop Home Page - My favorite kind of jazz.
- The Blue
Highway - Bios and essays, blues radio listings, blues news, a blues
mall, and the best blues links on the web.
- The Blue
Flame Cafe - An interactive biographical encylopedia of the
blues.
- The Soul
Patrol - Black music, soul, R&B, funk, etc.
- AfroMix -
African and Caribbean music.
- The
Alt-Country Page - My favorite kind of country music.
