The math-physics reading group is jointly run by the math and physics departments during the spring semester of each year. Texts forthe group are popular or expository works, rather than conventional textbooks. The text for the spring 1997 semester wil be

Meeting time for the spring 1997 semester will be Tuesdays, 4:00 until 5-5:30 or so. I will post the location as it becomes available.

Information on the course will be distributed via the list server, and discussion of the course can be carried out via the server.

Students taking the course for credit can enroll for 1 credit hour, with the grade based on a research paper and class participation. Faculty, staff and students are also encouraged to participate with formal course enrollment. Participation purely through the list server may also be possible.
