February

· 02/26/13-   This meeting will be held to start planning for the Spring fest at PS 17.  There will be a fun activity we will be participating in that you can do with your future students.  We will also have snacks for your enjoyment.

March

· 03/7/13– Spring Festival at School 17. Please sign up to volunteer so we can make this another successful event for the students at School 17!  School 17 is located right next to the Delavan Townhouses!!

**This spring we will only be there from 6-6:30 because they have the reptile guy presenting to the children after.

· 03/18/13–   Dr. Whalen will be giving a presentation on the new NYS certification requirements.  This is need to know information for the Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors who plan on getting certified to teach.  It will be a great help in letting you know what you need to get done when in the certification process.

April

· 04/09/13-  Take a breather after the first couple days back from break and watch a movie with TED!  We will be showing the movie Won’t Back Down which is about 2 mothers (one being a teacher) trying to transform their children’s failing school.  This is a very good movie to see for all of you planning on going into the field of education.

· 04/25/13- The Student Teacher gala is held in honor of student teachers and their cooperating teachers. The club invites teacher candidates, their friends, family, and cooperating teachers in celebration of all of their hard work. Education faculty and student supervisors are also invited to join the festivities. The banquet includes dinner, a guest speaker, door prizes, and awards to student teachers. 

 

 

· 04/15/13-  The last meeting of the semester!! We will be holding E-board Elections for next year so make sure you look into the different positions to see if you are interested in joining us!  We will also be finalizing things for the Student Teaching Gala

· 04/20/13-  Join TED and Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society in volunteering at Vive La Casa, a local refugee center!  We will be working with the children in the center.  Lunch is provided by Chartwells.
